Being a member of Clifton Cycling Club gets you:-
- All sorts of regular weekly rides so you can just turn up, knowing someone's taken the time to think about where you're going, check out cafes etc
- Annual events including audaxes, hostelling weekends, challenge rides, and the season-closing hillclimb
- The Thursday night time trial series of mixed flat 10's (including, this year, a junior league) and SPOCOs, and the Open TT series
- Organised MTB rides and fun days
- An annual presentation dinner with lots of opportunities to impress your family with silverware or impressive certificates
- Evening seminars with the sports science staff at York St.John
- A website to keep you up to date with what's going on
- A discussion board on the net to help arrange rides, ask for help, buy or sell
- A "members only" training forum with advice from the York St.John sports science people
- A weekly email newsletter telling you what's going on
- Two issues of the legendary "Cliftonite" each year
- Members of the club who haven't joined British Cycling before are eligable for free Bronze membership or a £13.50 discount on Silver Race Membership with gives you Up to £10m liability cover for accidents which are your fault. Covers racing (Race only), commuting, training and leisure riding.
Membership Fees
Individual Membership £15.00 (£5.00 concessions *)
Family Membership (2 adults & children under 18 on 1st Jan) £22.00 (£10.00 concessions *) * Concessions are available for full time students, unemployed, registered disabled and retired.
As if that isn't enough, it saves you money, too.
York Cycleworks Stock club clothing, which is on display in the clothing section of the shop, they also offer 10% discount on most components to all members on production of your membership card as part of a partnership arrangement with the club. This applies to all items (including bikes), with the exceptions of sale items and workshop labour. The invaluable Cycle Fit service is also available at a discounted price to Clifton C.C members.
Cycle Heaven (Bishopthorpe Road) have worked with the club for some time as well as providing prizes and support for club events, they also give discount to members. This applies to all stock - including bikes - with the exception of one or two specific items (mainly folding bikes) where pricing arrangements mean the shop simply cannot afford to offer discounts. Where items are already on special offer, either the special offer price or the 10% discount will apply - whichever is cheapest.
Cycle Sense (High Street, Tadcaster) are offering the following:
- 10% discount on parts & accessories
- 5% discount on energy bars & food
- 5% discount on Campagnolo
Sale items & Multibuys are excluded from any further discount, and if they price-match any item, there will be no further discount on said item.

CycleScene (Wigginton) will give 10% discount, excluding special offers and sale items
Colin Hawxby at Muscle Management Sports Therapy will give discount to club members for sports injury treatment, management and prevention.
Just Sweat No Tears multi-sport training services give 10% discount to Clifton members for coaching services, training camps etc.
Big Bear Bikes (Southgate, Pickering) offer 11% discount on parts and accessories that are not otherwise discounted, price matched or sale items. Bulk order discount is available through the club or individually on Torq fitness sports nutrition. Call for details.
Discount at all of the above will ONLY be given when you show your membership card; you need to ask for discount.
