13th July 2013

HQ is in Stamford Bridge at the Scout Hut behind the Village Hall on Low Catton Road. Doors will open at 08:00.The Bridges and Beaches starts at 08:30 and the Three Bridges at 09:00.

There is parking at the Scout Hut. In addition there is a public car park signposted just before the bridge from HQ descend to main road and turn left. Please do not park on Low Catton Road or surrounding residential streets.

Some notes may assist.

Food & Drink. As always it is best to be prepared. We recommend you carry plenty with you particularly on the section between the Humber and Boothferry bridges.

The Bridges and Beaches event starts by heading through Thixendale to the first control at Bridlington, after which it takes mostly minor roads down to the Humber, where it rejoins the Three Bridges to control by the Bridge.  This is at Mrs Bs, the cafe next to the tourist information  http://www.mrsbs-humberbridge.co.uk, which is also the first control for the Three Bridges ride.  Should it be full, there is also the Waters Edge Visitor Centre on the south side of the bridge. The latter involves a slight detour off route toward Barton but is well worth a visit. See http://www.watersedgecountrypark.org/visitors_centre/visitors_centre.html.

Our next control is The Waterways Museum in Goole. http://www.waterwaysmuseum.org.uk  Nice location and very friendly. Please note the cafe closes at 4pm.  There is a Co-op on the way into Goole and one in Howden to top-up.  If the cafe is closed receipts are fine.

Light refreshments (tea and cakes) will be served at the finish.

The route is hopefully straight forward with just the one Info Control as you cross the River Trent. Places we pass through appear in bold on the route sheet and all distances are in km.

Cyclists must use the cycle path when crossing the Humber Bridge.

Any late breaking copy will be published via the Clifton website and made available at the start.

For enquiries, contact Greg Melia or see the ride's page on Audax UK.
