Youth & Juniors Go Ride
Welcome to Clifton Junior Cycling Club
At Clifton we want to encourage a lifelong love of cycling and believe that this starts as a child. We give opportunities for children aged 8 to 18 to develop their cycling skills through different levels of coached sessions. This ranges from improving the rider’s confidence to developing fully fledged racers.
Clifton Junior Cycling Club is an accredited British Cycling Go Ride club. Whether it’s a spin in the back garden, splashing through puddles in the park or tearing around a local pump track: cycling is an essential part of growing up.
Our weekly sessions are run by British Cycling accredited coaches. To find out which session below is right for your child, please contact us on email@example.com. The sessions are run on a Saturday morning at York Sports Village’s 1km traffic free circuit, with additional sessions for Chasers and Breakaway on Monday evenings.

Peloton: Skills development session
Once your child is comfortable riding their bike we can help them develop their skills and confidence. From 8 years old our coaches will work with the rider to improve skills including cornering, riding as a group, and general cycling safety. These 1 hour sessions are fun and a great way to quickly develop important cycling capabilities.
Chasers: Improving speed and fitness session
Your child will continue to develop their bike skills but we will add speed and endurance to their riding with longer coached sessions. This session acts as a bridge to the next level of riding.
Breakaway: Race level trainingThis session is for riders who have developed the required skills and confidence to ride fast with a group. Clifton coaches will help the child develop race tactics, speed and endurance.
Your child’s safety is paramount to us. When attending a session all riders must have a road worthy bike and a helmet. We also advise suitable clothing for the conditions as well as food and drink.
